In Japanese, Jin Shin Jyutsu means "Art of the Creator through Person of knowing and compassion".

Jin Shin Jyutsu is all about unblocking energy to create harmony and well-being in the body, mind and Spirit. With Jin Shin Jyutsu, our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually. By placing fingers and hands over some of the 26 places in the body referred to as "safety energy locks" and holding certain positions, the body is gently guided to harmony, balance and restoration.

Records of Jin Shin Jyutsu date back to 712 A.D. Jin Shin Jyutsu was rediscovered by Japanese Philosopher Jiro Murai early in the 20th century. When he was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he retreated to his family home in the mountains. There he put to use what he'd culled from ancient texts, experimenting with holding his fingers in certain sequences. On the seventh day, he emerged healed and determined to study and share the practice that had cured him. His student, a Japanese American woman named Mary Burmeister, brought the Art from Japan to America in the 1950's. While Jin Shin Jyutsu is a complex and sophisticated healing art that requires years of study to fully understand, there are some very easy to use self-healing tools that require no more than your own two hands.

A Jin Shin Jyutsu session typically lasts an hour and involves the light application of my hands to the receiver's body who lies clothed on a massage table. This light pressure to the meridian points of the body brings about a gentle balancing of the flow of life energy in the body. The energy flowing through my hands work as "jumper cables" as I contact meridian points of the body to safely redirect or unblock the flow of energy along its pathways. I am not the "do-er," I simply assist in the flow of the infinite supply of universal energy. The receiver generally experiences a feeling of deep relaxation and well-being during each session.
